This family home was built at the beginning of the last century, at a time when the honor of a landlord in the Latvian countryside was measured not only by the area of land, but also by work, skills and responsibility towards one’s family. It once belonged to a wealthy and hardworking farm, where every building, every tree and every tool had its own meaning.
The owners of the house were people who knew how to farm with foresight. They tended the fields, kept livestock, worked from sunrise to sunset and created a farm that provided not only for their family, but was also important for the surrounding community. This homestead was characterized by work ethic, hospitality and respect for traditions.
Over the years, the house experienced both times of prosperity and historical changes. It saw the change of generations, wars, changes of power and quieter times, but still retained its character. The old log walls still hold stories of people who laughed, worked, celebrated, and raised children here.
When it seemed that its life was coming to an end, a new path began. The house was carefully dismantled – log by log, each marked and preserved with respect for the work of the masters. It set off to be reborn in a different place – in the forest by the Loja River.
Today it is alive again. It is being renovated, but it has not lost its soul. The old log house has met modern comfort, preserving what cannot be built anew – the touch of time and the feeling of a real home.
It is still a place where people gather, where new memories are made, and where new stories are born.
We believe that every old house has its own soul. This house has kept its own for more than a hundred years – and now it is ready to accept your story too.
Maybe that’s why, when you enter its doors, you feel like you’ve returned to a place you’ve never been before, but which seems strangely familiar. Because real houses don’t just belong to the past – they come alive every time people enter them.
